The History and Future of Buddhism, Recreated with World-Class High Quality Images

The museum theater (47 seats) is located on the 3rd floor of the museum. World-class, high quality, highly detailed video presentations are shown on a 200 inch screen using a 4K* projector tha produces highly detailed images 4 times greater that full high definition.

*4K is a video format designed in Hollywood that produces super high detail video where 1 screen contains approximately 8.85 megapixels (4,096 x 2,160 pixels). It has more than 4 times the pixels of full high definition (2.07 megapixels, 1920 x 1,080 pixels) and recreates dramatically higher quality images in brilliant colors and high detail.

The following movies are planned to be shown in the inaugural year of the Ryukoku Museum.
"Things to be passed on - The wall paintings of Nishi Honganji"
"The rebirth of the Bezeklik Cave Temple"

UNESCO World Heritage Site Unfolds on the Other Side of the Screen

Once the movie is over, the screen positioned on the Horikawa-dori side of the building retracts into the ceiling making an observation room from where visitors can view the entire grounds of Nishi Honganji Temple.
